Human Body Project 

Step 1: Starting the Project 



​1. Cut chart paper.

2. Trace each child's body.

3. Hang the posters on the wall.

Step 2: Draw Faces 



​Color the eyes, hair, skin colors with colors that match the child. 

Also, draw the ears, eye brows, etc.

Step 3: Circulatory System 


​1. Find a children's books about the human body and read about the heart and bood

2. Talk about these Objectives:
*Show where the heart belongs on the body
*Blood travels in our veins. Our blood goes everywhere in our body. Find veins on their arms and wrist.
*Red blood has oxygen. Blue blood needs more oxygen
*This body system is called the Circulatory System, because blood CIRCULATES through our body

3. Glue a heart cut out on their body charts. Have them use red and blue crayons to draw blood traveling from the heart to the arms and legs.

Step 4: Respiratory System  


​1. Find a children's books about the human body and read about the lungs


2. Talk about these Objectives:
*Show the location of lungs on the body
*We inhale oxygen through our mouth and nose. It goes down out windpipe and into our lungs. Then, the oxygen goes into our veins. Oxygen goes everywhere in our body. 
*This body system is called the Respiratory System

3. Glue a lungs cut out on their body charts. Tape the top part of the lungs over the heart. This will allow the children to lift up the lungs to see the heart.

Step 5: Skeletal System 

1. Find a children's books about the human body and read about bones. 

2. Talk about these Objectives:
*Children have 270 bones. Adults have 206 bones.
* The femur is the largest bone in the body
*Your bones make blood
*Bones and muscles work together to help you stand and move around
*Your spine helps you stand up straight and bend over.


3. Glue/tape bones on their body charts. Glue large bones for arms and legs. Glue small bones for fingers and toes. Tape the ribs should cover the lungs. Tape the spine goes under the lungs.

Step 6: Nervous System 

1. Find a children's books about the human body and read about the brain and nerves

2. Talk about these Objectives:
*Your brain is connected to every part of our through our nerves.
*Different parts or our brain are in charge of different jobs. 
*Nerves help you see, smell, taste, hear, and touch. 
*Your skull protects your brain.

3. Glue the brain and draw the lines to show the texture of the brain.

Step 7: Digestive System 

1. Find a children's books about the human body and read about the esophagus, stomach, liver, small intestines, large intestines, and bladder

2. Talk about these Objectives:
*Your mouth creates saliva to help you chew, swallow and digest food. The food then travels down our esophagus.
* Your liver creates liquid to break down food and cleans your blood.
*Your stomach breaks down food.
The small and large intestines help absorb the nutrients from our food.
*After food is passed through the large intestine, it is passed out of our bodies into the toilet!

3. Glue the stomach, liver, and intestines onto the body.

Step 8: Muscular System 

1. Find a children's books about the human body and read about the muscles.

2. Talk about these Objectives:
*We have over 600 muscles in our bodies.
*Muscles helps us lift objects and move.
*Muscles helps us pump our blood.
*Identify: deltoids, biceps, triceps, abdominals, and quadriceps.
* We have muscles all over our bodies, from our face to our toes. 

3. Glue the muscles around the bones and in the waist.
