Where Fun, Family, and Fundamentals Meet!

My name is Kristie Chaffee. I have been working with children for over 16 years. I taught first grade and special education for three years and stayed home after having our son. I have been doing daycare for 6 years. I have four children, Ari (6), Audrey (5), Maddox (2), Lucille (5 months).

I am a Licensed General Education Teacher (K-6) & Special Education Teacher (Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Academic/Behavior Specialist. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University and a Masters Degree in Special Education from University of St. Thomas. I choose to leave the field of education to be with home with my children and to provide quality care for families.

I have a four-star Parent Aware MN Daycare Rating. I am a licensed Daycare. I am focused on providing high-quality childcare for your children. I truly look forward to helping take care of your children! My child care is here to give you the peace of mind needed to be satisfied, comfortable, and content with my professional services.

All children deserve a positive, happy, and encouraging childhood to learn, grow, and discover their true potential. I have created a daily schedule to include a balance of age appropriate academic skills and structured and unstructured play activities. I am always here to ensure your child will have fun and meaningful friendships. I teach daily academic skills coordinated with art projects.

*I follow the MN Early Childhood State Standards. We will have puppet shows, art projects, cooking/baking, pretend play activities, singing, dancing, and circle time (to name a few).
*I completed my thesis/research paper for my Masters Degree in early reading and math instruction. I will provide the most current research based pre-reading and pre-math instruction. Your child will be ready for kindergarten.

Your Friend in Childcare,
Kristie

A thank you to my daycare families,

I
currently have such amazing families!! I couldn’t do everything I do without their support. As a team we help all of the children reach their full potential.  I know that collaboration is the key to our children's success. I enjoy when my parents are open to having honest conversations about their children's social, emotional, physical and academic needs.  I will always strive to help parents understand their child's strengths and areas of concerns. When we have these conversations, they lead to positive outcomes.  I'm glad I can be open and honest when a child is having a good or bad day.

Thank you for all of your time and effort given to talking with me about your children. I would not be successful with teaching them without your help! I feel blessed to say I enjoy what I do all day. Teaching will always be my passion and I have the opportunity to do this with wonderful children and families!
What My Families Say
"We have been with Kristie for 3 years. I don't know where I would be without her. My daughter loves her, she has so much fun and learns a lot as well. We will be sad to leave when my daughter starts kindergarten in the fall, but  she will be ready, thanks to Kristie. My family often tells me how lucky we are to have found Kristie."
-Rana
"Kristie provides great communication with familiies about what kids are doing, important dates, and upcoming events.
She provides plenty of time for both structured  activities and free play."
-Amanda
"Kristie's daycare has been amazing for my son. She fosters each child's development while providing a family community atmosphere. We are so lucky to have found her!"   -Stephanie
